Panasonic’s iPod compatible HDTV, the VIERA X1 (with video)
iPod integration is absolutely everywhere and hooking up an iPod to a television is pretty much a trivial task. However, controlling the iPod may not be too easy from across the room using the iPod’s small screen. Panasonic has introduced its VIERA X1 LCD line of televisions at three different sizes, with a 26-inch, 31.5-inch, and 37-inch models. The VIERA X1 comes with a proprietary iPod dock that allows for control of the iPod on the television through an Apple approved user interface. You can see the UI in the video below.
CES 2009 Preview: Panasonic wants you to be “Living in Hi-Definition”
We told you it was coming: 3DTV. And now at CES 2009, Panasonic is going to be showing off just that.
Matsushita Electric Co, Ltd. is using their Panasonic brand to demonstrate a 103-inch plasma 3DTV and Blu-ray disc player that delivers high def images (1920 x 1080 pixels for both eyes). Users are still required to wear special glasses. These glasses are synchronized shutter glasses and not quite the same as the funky plastic orange ones you may be imagining.

Get rid of your cable box: Panasonic and Comcast show off Tru2way
Tru2way is coming and Panasonic is putting it in their VIERA TVs! Yeah! That’s great! Now what is tru2way?!
Well tru2way is the consumer-friendly name for a technology that lets you have access to all kinds of cable television guides, on demand services, and actual cable television without the need for a convertor box.
Panasonic is working with Comcast to show off tru2way in Denver and Chicago right now. Other cable systems will roll out the service over time. More after the break.
Panasonic unveils the 4th-generation DMP-BD35, DMP-BD55 Blu-ray players
Panasonic has announced its 4th generation Blu-ray players dubbed DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55. According to Panasonic, both players are capable of reproducing movies with colors that are exceptionally faithful to the original. This feature can be attributed to the players’ PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus video processor which was developed for more than 15 years. When these Blu-ray players are connected to a Panasonic VIERA HDTV they can display movies in sharper and more vivid color.
