New Facebook feature forms stronger relationships with news outlets
It’s very easy to share links on Facebook. Posting links turns friends on to stories and events they wouldn’t have known about otherwise. It also generates more page views for the article’s source. A recent Forbes report says that Facebook is currently working with various news organizations to create “Facebook editions” for the social networks.
The Washington Post Jobs site hacked
What’s this? Another hacking story? Surely you didn’t think the fun would be over so quickly did you? One of the latest victims of the great hacking craze of 2011 is the jobs website for The Washington Post. At this time, it isn’t known who is behind the hacks, but they did make off with a bunch of email addresses.
Washington Post prepares iPhone app, asks for money
In an effort to generate additional revenue, some newspapers publish all their content online but charge for membership access. Personally, I can find my news elsewhere and I wouldn’t be spending my money for a paid subscription, but that’s a separate story.
