Rumor: HTC Touch Pro2 headed for T-Mobile USA

We have already seen an official confirmation that the HTC Touch Pro2 was headed for a North American launch, however the currently rumored carrier is a little surprising. Given the 3G capabilities, many assumed that it would be AT&T that would be offering this handset. Instead, it seems that T-Mobile may have it first. This more »

HTC Touch Pro2 release confirmed for North America

HTC has gone on record, well actually on Twitter, and confirmed that the Touch Pro2 will be coming to North America.

They said, “And to answer the big question on everyone’s minds, the Touch Pro2 will be broadly available in all major markets, including North America.”

Unfortunately, I guess due to the fact this was a Twitter message and not an official press release, we are still missing some important information such as the pricing and a release date. Of course, rumor has it being available in Europe this summer and the US in the fall.

As far as features, the Touch Pro2 will include a 3.6-inch display with an 800 x 480 resolution, a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus, microSD card slot and will be running Windows Mobile 6.1 with the TouchFLO interface. Additionally, the Touch Pro2 will have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a display that tilts up when opened. Another item that was not mentioned is whether it will include support for 3G here in the US. Of course, we all hope the answer to that is yes.

Garmin-Asus unveil the Windows Mobile 6.1-based nuvifone M20

We saw Garmin-Asus announce the G60 a little over a week ago, and now they have followed up with their latest model — the nuvifone M20. This time it is running Windows Mobile 6.1, of course we can still hope to see something Android based in the future. In the meantime, the nuvifone M20 specs are pretty impressive. You can expect to see a 2.8-inch VGA quality touchscreen, accelerometer, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, 3-megapixel camera, microSD card slot and either 4 or 8GB of internal storage.

Additionally, the M20 has support for quadband EDGE, triband HSDPA and comes preloaded with Garmin’s navigation and maps. The M20 will also ship with a car mount that will allow drivers to take full advantage of the GPS capabilities right out of the box. Sadly, the pricing and availability have still not been announced. HTC, Russian carrier Scartel intro world’s first GSM/WiMAX phone

HTC, along with Russian carrier Scartel have just unveiled the world’s first integrated GSM/WiMAX handset — the HTC Max 4G. The new handset has taken plenty of design cues from the HTC Touch HD and has a solid feature set. To begin with, the Max 4G has built-in support for WiMax, and it takes advantage of that support. When calls are made in-network, they are automatically switched over to the WiMax network and handled as a VoIP call.

Other features of the Max 4G include a 3.8-inch touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, GPS, WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, 8GB of built-in flash memory, an accelerometer, a 5-megapixel camera with a second VGA quality camera on the front, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an FM radio. Additionally it will be running Windows Mobile 6.1 and powered by a 528 MHz Qualcomm ESM7206A processor.

As of now a release date has not been announced, of course, this one is not destined for the US market anytime soon, so no sense in holding your breath.
