Here’s how the promotion works. If you spend at least $100 on PlayStation Store purchases, and we mean any kind of purchases, then in November Sony will send you a code for $20 to add to your account. You can then spend that $20 however you like. It’s a way of getting something for spending money you were already planning to spend.
Now, I know $100 sounds like a lot of money. And you’re 100% right, it is. However, it could go really fast this month. For starters, Sony has started the PSN Day 1 Digital program, where it will have Resident Evil 6, NBA 2K13, Dishonored, Doom 3: BFG Edition, 007 Legends, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Assassin’s Creed III available on the PlayStation Store the same day as they are in regular stores. NBA 2K13, Doom 3: BFG Edition, Dishonored and Need for Speed: Most Wanted are even part of a PSN+ promotion where 10% is taken off of the price if people pre-order. If you buy or pre-order two of those October 2012 $59.99 releases, you’ll already qualify for the free $20 credit.
So there you go. Sony’s making it easier to justify spending money on yourself this month. If you feel like taking the company up on the offer, go ahead. If not – no big deal. Spend the $100 on practical stuff or save it for later.
