Finally, Sony seems to get it. Finally we’re seeing some progress in the North American PS Vita PlayStation Store. Granted, I don’t think we have immediate access to every compatible PSOne Classic via the PlayStation Store we see on our Vitas, but now we have access to most of the best PSOne Classics. It’s all thanks to the October 2, 2012 PlayStation Store update that gives us direct access to 40 more games.

Of the 40 new games available as direct downloads, a remarkable number are really fantastic and true classics. These are PSOne Classics you’d be proud to own. To help you out, I’ve listed the downloads you should really consider grabbing. Try not to be too surprised at how big the list is.

  • Breath of Fire IV
  • Chrono Cross
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Darkstalkers
  • Darkstalkers 3
  • Dino Crisis
  • Dino Crisis 2
  • Final Fantasy VI
  • Final Fantasy VIII
