Activision and Treyarch have revealed that all Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 pre-orders from Best Buy, GameStop, Amazon, Target, Walmart and Toys ‘R’ Us will now come with both the previously-announced Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map bonus and a nice “double XP” weekend launch kick-off.
Additionally, it looks as if Steam users who pre-purchase the game will also get these bonuses as well (depending on the circumstances of purchase, that is).
All you need to do to participate once that’s done is to download your pre-order bonus map at the time of launch, and you’re in!
The Nuketown 2025 map is a re-imagining of its counterpart from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops in a more contemporary take on the 1950s “home of the future” aesthetic to better fit in with the “cold war of the future” theme upon which Black Ops 2 sets its story. The original Nuketown map was perhaps the biggest hit out of the entire set of multiplayer arenas from the first Black Ops game. In fact, the map was so popular that Activision literally released a patch for the game just to force out some variety by only allowing a single replay of the previously-played map in automatic matchmaking sessions. Seriously, that is not a joke – I actually played the first Black Ops, and I was there to see it.
Either way, you can expect to get crackin’ and blastin’ across Nuketown 2025 and the rest of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 content when it hits the street on November 13, with the event itself running from November 16-18.
