Now that it’s fall, it’s easy to be tempted to spend a weekend inside, being lazy and enjoying your favorite games. It’s something about the weather. But, what if you don’t have a game to play? EA has you covered. There’s a promotion running on Origin right now for US residents that grants them access to either a $19.99 game for free or a $19.99 discount on a more expensive game.

The deal is easy to claim. All you have to do is hop on the Origin client or head to the Origin website, add a game to your cart and then put in the coupon code “OS3874XVC”. The game will then be free. All you have to do is have an Origin account and provide your address. EA won’t even ask for a credit card number. Once you’ve bought the game, open the Origin client and download it.

Unfortunately, not all games are included in this deal. It only applies to downloadable games, for instance. I also couldn’t get the code to work on Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit or Bejeweled 3. However, it is definitely confirmed to work on the Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Burnout, Sims, SimCity and Spore games, so you still have plenty of games to choose from. The code only works until October 21, 2012, so make your decision quickly.

Since I had all the Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Sims games already, I used it to grab SimCity Societies. You know, it’s one of those games you’re interested in, but not enough to ever buy it. What about you? What will you grab with the Origin code?
