Man, there is nothing better than a two year old game being brought back out like it’s all shiny and new again. Especially when it’s a little known game. That’s exactly what’s happening with Deadly Premonition, a horror game that was originally an Xbox 360 exclusive. It’s limited to one system no longer, as Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut is bringing the adventure to the PS3. Rising Star Games has confirmed it’s bringing it to North America and Europe sometime in the first few months of 2013.
Deadly Premonition is about an FBI agent investigating a suspiscious murder in a small town. Upon his arrival, he realizes supernatural forces are at work. The “Director’s Cut” portion refers to the fact that the PS3 incarnation will allow for optional Move controls, an extra scenario, upgraded graphics and DLC. Deadly Premonition is still the same at its core, but has oddles of extra content for people willing to dip into it again.
I don’t know if this is a horror game you should be looking forward to, or not. I’ve never played it, since I don’t have an Xbox 360, but reviews are extremely mixed on the original release of Deadly Premonition. It either receives an incredibly high or eerily low rating from reviewers. I guess you’ll just have to take a chance and trust your gut when it comes out in 2013.
