In a move that will have gamers everywhere shaking their collective heads with the sheer irony of it all, an Uwe Boll film will be made into a videogame. The movie in question is Tunnel Rats, a Vietnam War period piece that highlights the senselessness and brutality of war. The game will be a dark and gritty FPS, developed by Replay Studios and will feature the likenesses of the film’s stars Michael Pare, Nate Parker, Brandon Fobbs and Erik Eidem.
Tunnel Rats will be released on the Xbox 360 and PC and, if it’s successful, Boll has said that he’d like to “keep going with other game ideas.” Consider yourself warned.
The German director, who has made quite a name for himself writing/producing/directing films based on videogames (BloodRayne, Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead, etc.), and boasts a collection of the anti-awards, the Razzies, is actually financing the game. Plans are in place to launch the game and film at the same time, with a possible videogame/DVD bundle when the film is released on DVD.
