Big news everyone who’s interested in taking part in the holiday 2012 shopping season, the Toys R Us big toy book ad is here. This year’s ad is called The Great Big Toys R Us Book and it’s pretty darn big. There are 80 pages of advertisements, coupons and deals to go through. Not to mention there’s a $10 off a $100 purchase coupon on the front cover that’s good until November 21, 2012, there’s a layaway option and the store now has a price match guarantee that applies to competitors ads.

Since we’re all about video games here at GamerTell, we’ll help you out by going through the various gamer deals in The Great Big Toys R Us Book. That way you can know what’s available and what you can get, even if you don’t have the ad right in front of you. Then, when you do get your own ad, you’ll know what deserves your attention. Just keep in mind that all the deals below are only good until November 21, 2012.

Let’s start with the iOS deals, since those show up first in The Great Big Toys R Us Book ad on page 70. The $299.99 32GB iPod Touch, $199.99 16Gb iPod Touch and $149.99 16GB iPod nano are all prominently displayed in the ad, and for good reason. If you buy any iPod, you get a $10 Toys R Us gift card. In addition, if you buy an iPod Touch, you also get a free app game. The Game Changer Game Board, Duo Pop and Duo Punk are sown next to that announcement. If you grab iTunes gift cards, you can get rewarded too. Spend $30 or more on iTunes gift cards and you’ll get a $5 Toys R Us gift card. Even accessories are on sale, as all iOS cases, docks, games and Apptivity and Appgear games are 20% off.

People who prefer Android to iOS can easily find deals too. If you buy an Android tablet that costs less than $199.99, Toys R Us will give you a $10 Toys R Us gift card. If you spend over $200 on a tablet, then you get a $25 gift card. Seeing as how this year’s ad highlights the $149.99 Tabeo, $149.99 Meep!, $149.99 Kurio, $179.99 Archoes 10″ Arnova, $249.99 7″ Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and $399.99 10″ Android 4.0 ICS Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, it looks like there’s a decent selection to choose of tablets shoppers could pick.

Before we get into consoles, there’s a whole page in the The Great Big Toys R Us Book devoted to Skylanders Giants. There aren’t as many deals here, but you can still save money. For example, the Skylanders Giants Megabloks sets are part of a buy one, get one 40% off promotion, as are the Skylanders stuffed animals. The biggest draw is the offer of a free Skylanders Giants Castle Case that comes with the exclusive Wham-Shell if you spend $100 on Skylanders merchandise. Normally, that carrying case is $29.99.

Let’s wrap this up with the major console and handheld deals. Pages 76-79 in The Great Big Toys R Us Book showcase the 3DS, DSi, Wii U, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 and are filled with consoles, accessories and games, but not many specific deals. These pages are more about promoting what’s already available, in case you didn’t know. Still, there are two things worth pointing out. First, all $19.99 Super Buy DS and Wii games are part of a 2 for $25 deal. The ad says there should be around 60 games to choose from if you want to go for this offer, which is pretty nice. The other deal is a custom promotion, where Toys R Us is selling the Xbox 360 Kinect sensor and its Nyko Zoom add-on for $119.99 instead of $139.98. Since the Zoom significantly cuts down on the amount of space a Kinect needs to work, it’s a handy add-on to have.

If you’re looking for PS Vita deals, you’ll actually have to stop by your local Toys R Us. Sony’s latest handheld is absent from The Great Big Toys R Us Book this year. It’s a shame too, since there are a lot of great Vita games available at the moment, not to mention that Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation Vita bundle.
