Yes, October 30 is today! Time to grab some Plants vs. Zombies!
Here’s how you do it. Go to that website I linked to above. (Another link is available at the bottom of this story.) At the top of the page is a section that says, “Get your free game.” Click the “Get Game” button there. You will then be redirected to PopCap’s website. Don’t worry if this step takes a while, as the site is very busy due to a lot of people claiming their copies of Plants vs. Zombies. You have to enter your date of birth first. Then, it will ask either for your or your parents’ email and the code. Just enter the code, “PEAH8R.” You’ll then be emailed a download link to your game.
Er, in theory, that is. I’ve tried three times now to redeem my code for a copy of Plants vs. Zombies and I keep getting an error. I think PopCap Games didn’t expect this much demand for a free copy of Plants vs. Zombies. If you’re experiencing problems, like me, take a break and come back later. Maybe in a few hours or days, the demand will lessen. As long as you call dibs on your copy by November 11, 2012, you’ll be fine.
