Not everybody likes to be scared. Some people enjoy more calm, relaxing activities. They’d rather watch reruns of Friends, South Park or House rather than catch the third viewing of The Exorcist tonight. Fortunately, there’s even a Halloween sale geared directly towards our more fainthearted friends. GOG.com, purveyor of classic and indie PC games, is holding a Not-Scary Games sale until November 1, 2012. You have one day to stock up on 50% off 100% un-terrifying games.

GOG.com’s Not-Scary Games sale actually offers an admirable game lineup of both classics and new indie endeavors. There are 16 games reduced and it’s organized into a nice webpage where you can buy as many as you want at once, so you don’t have to search around the catalog. Here’s what’s available.

  • Botanicula (Windows, Mac) – $4.99
  • Creatures: Albian Years (Windows) – $2.99
  • Creatures Exodus (Windows) – $2.99
  • Creatures Village (Windows) – $2.99
  • Gobliiins Pack (Windows) – $2.99
  • Little Big Adventure 2: Twinsen’s Odyssey (Windows, Mac) – $2.99
  • Mutant Mudds (Windows) – $4.99
  • Rayman 2: The Great Escape (Windows) – $2.99
  • Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc (Windows) – $2.99
  • Rayman Forever (Windows) – $2.99
  • Simon the Sorcerer (Windows) – $2.99
  • Simon the Sorcerer 2 (Windows) – $2.99
  • Simon the Sorcerer 3D (Windows) – $2.99
  • Superfrog (Windows) – $2.99
  • Worms 2 (Windows) – $2.99
  • Worms United (Windows) – $2.99

If you’re paying more than $5 for a single game at GOG.com today, you’re doing it wrong.

People in search of a Not-Scary Games sale recommendation should check out Botanicula, Mutant Mudds and any of the Creatures games. I’ve played all five and would recommend all of them. Though to be honest, I haven’t played the Creatures games in years. I wonder if I should grab one of them from GOG.com’s sale to fix that.
