Is it Magical Drop V time already? I’d almost forgotten all about it. Well, not really forgot, but more it slipped to the back of my mind. It happens. After all, you hear so little from UTV Ignition. But thanks to Golgoth Studio and Ignition, Magical Drop V is incoming and if we don’t hurry, we’ll be buried under hundreds of brightly colored balls before we even get to grab it from Steam on November 15, 2012.

Magical Drop V is a matching puzzle game. I guess you could say it’s similar to Bust a Move, only more competitive. Players pick one of 15 characters as their avatars and then must toss multicolor balls at ones descending from the top of the screen to eliminate them, earn points and cause more multicolor balls to appear above their opponents. It’s pretty competitive, but you don’t have to play against other people. The series has long been known for having both single and multiplayer modes.

Here’s a Magical Drop V trailer to show you what the game is like.

You can compete one on one, team up with a second player, participate in tournaments and such. Basically between two and four people can all play at once over the internet.

The only thing we don’t know about Magical Drop V is the price. Stop by Steam next week to find that out. Perhaps there will even be a slight release day discount.

If Steam isn’t your thing, then wait. Magical Drop V is also supposed to come to Xbox Live Arcade. Give it a few months and you could play it there instead.
