If your Origin account was hacked, then you may have a struggle trying to get back into it. EA’s system for reclaiming an account when something like this happens is to answer security questions. Except this hacker thought of that and changed the security questions for the accounts. It gets worse, as people calling in to EA to talk to a customer service representative may still have issues getting back what is theirs because the hacker changed the DOBs on the accounts.
If you’re locked out, here’s what you need to do. Odds are, you can’t get help from the Help Center because you have to be logged into your Origin account to do so. So you’re going to have to call in to speak to a real person. The number is in the US and is 1-855-ORIGIN-1 (1-855-674-4461).
Just be forewarned that other people who have tried to call in have experienced varying degrees of success. Some people have managed to get their accounts back, while others haven’t due to the date of birth issue. So when you call in be courteous and hope you get someone who’s aware of the situation so they’re willing to help as best as possible. If you have any Origin receipts saved to your computer, or even know what games were tied to your account, that should help with proving it is your account.
