Enterprise in battle
Bethesda Softworks announced a new strategy/action title based in the Star Trek universe: Star Trek: Conquest for the WII and PS2, set for release this holiday season. Players will be able to control Federation, Klingon, Cardassian, Dominion, and Breen forces through a campaign to “control the galaxy,” as the release so boldly declares, “one planet at a time.”

Gameplay will include classic RTS elements, such as building an empire, managing resources, etc. as well as real-time action. As soon as battle is initiated, the engine turns to pure, real-time combat, making use of the Wii-mote to take aim and fire away at all the space baddies.

The game will be set in the Star Trek: The Next Generation era, though no mention was made of that particular series’ badass villains, the Borg. Trek fans will be able to bust out with the photon torpedoes in time for the holidays, with the Wii version running for $29.99 and the PS2 incarnation selling for $19.99.
