At this year’s Leipzig Game conference, show-goers will be able to witness the development of a game first hand at a “glass development studio” exhibit. From the August 23 to the 26, 2007, Hannover development studio exDream entertainment will be making a casual puzzle title not unlike Tetris, inside their “glass house” in the GC family hall (Hall 5, stand F40, to be precise). The idea is to provide conference attendees with some insight into the development process.
The team members will be answering questions and even allowing people to participate in quality testing a later stages of the process. The exhibit will showcase all aspects of the game’s production, from concept and idea brainstorming to graphic design to programming, testing and improving the product.
Interesting interactive exhibits like this are exactly what makes developers’ conferences cooler than mere exhibitions.
