Intel has partnered up with the World Series of Video Games to bring the venerable competition to our northern neighbors. August 24th through the 26th will see the tournament held at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. There will be over $70,000 in cash prizes available for those lucky few who manage to rise to the top of the field. Gamers will be competing on such titles as World of Warcraft, Quake 4, and Guitar Hero II.

Intel will also be offering a number of unique experiences and clever displays designed to maximize their exposure at the event. There will be showcases for Intel’s Core 2 Extreme processors, integral components for high-end gaming PCs. Intel will also be bringing an F-1 racing simulator and a booth that where fans can star in their very own 3-D commercial for Intel (what fun for the kids!)

Canada’s addition to the tournament circuit will be sure to spur the already massive, 32 billion dollar video game industry. A aboot time too, eh, hosers?
