See, Barkley 2 is a direct sequel with a bunch of incredible additions to the formula. It will have an open world setting where the amnesiac X114JAM9 wakes from a coma and escapes the AI Cuchulainn to find the Cyberdwarf and learn who he is. Time will be a big factor, since when you do things will influence the shape of quests and the world. So it’s all about exploring and doing things when you feel like, so each time you play it will be different.
As is common with a Kickstarter campaign, Tales of Games is offering a lot of rewards for helping to get Barkley 2 made. Your contribution can get you a copy of the game, an in-game tip revealing one of the secrets, a soundtrack, behind the scenes looks at the game’s progress, a Cyberdwarf body pillow, an artbook and more. The Barkley 2 Kickstarter began earlier today on November 28, 2012 and they’re hoping to get $35,000 by December 28, 2012. Tales of Games will get it too, as they had almost $27,000 by 10:20pm CST today.
While we wait for Barkley 2 and you debate whether or not this fan-made, RPG sequel to Barkley, Shut Up and Jam! is worth our money, go check out Tales of Games’ previous entry in the Barkley SaGa, Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden. It’s free, so it’s not like it’ll cost you anything and it’ll be a pretty good indicator of the quality and content of Barkley 2.
