Here’s some good news for most regions of the world. Microsoft has decided to be a little benevolent and grant its users a free extended weekend of Xbox Live Gold. Think of it as a way to enjoy Halo 4 with friends if you don’t normally subscribe and see if Xbox Live Gold is worth it. If you don’t play Halo 4, well, see it as an opportunity to see what Xbox Live Gold is like.

The free Xbox Live Gold weekend actually began quite early on Thursday, November 29, 2012. It runs until December 2, 2012. Get your online gaming on this weekend, because you’ll lose the opportunity Sunday night. Don’t stay up too late though, as I’m sure you have work or school Monday morning.

This deal isn’t available in every region, unfortunately. The following areas get to enjoy free Xbox Live Gold until December 2.

  • Argentina
  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • Colombia
  • Hong Kong
  • India
  • Japan
  • Republic of Korea
  • Mexico
  • New Zealand
  • Singapore
  • Taiwan
  • United States

If your country isn’t on that list, you don’t get a free weekend of Xbox Live Gold. This means all of our European Xbox 360 friends will be left out. Sorry!
