What’s even more exciting is Joystiq’s reporting that two classic Metroid titles will be available on the Virtual Console for the festivities: The original Metroid will be arriving on August 13, 2007 for 500 points, with SNES masterpiece Super Metroid landing for 800 points on August 20, 2007.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has some big space boots to fill as the first Wii installment of the excellent adventure/FPS Prime series that started life on the Gamecube. The new title features Wii-ified controls with which to blast aliens and a new phazon corruption mechanic.
If you’ve never caught Samus fever before, now is a perfect time to start. Seems like Nintendo is finally catching on to how this whole Internet contraption works and I couldn’t be happier.
