BBC lavishly praised the yet to be released PS3 title, Killzone 2, believing it might be “one of the most cinematic and immersive games ever produced on a console.” It also expects the game to exploit the copious processing power of the PS3. The BBC did not stop there and went on to extol the game at length.
The game, due late 2008, is set in a futuristic world with levels featuring labyrinthine detail. Killzone features unprecedented level detail, as Sony pointed out to the BBC, suggesting a single level could take up to six months for development. The cinematic gameplay of Killzone 2 is much vaunted. In fact, if all the hype around the game’s cinematic gameplay is to believed, then it might just be Call of Duty on steroids.
The game has been in the news ever since Sony first flaunted a stunning trailer two years ago. After titillating gamers around the world, it shattered their hopes, as it later turned out that the trailer wasn’t in-game. Once again gamers have fresh hopes after an “in-game” trailer was showcased at this years E3.
The game looks promising but a little bit of skepticism won’t hurt anyone. Wait till the game finally comes out.
