The Vita is going to be a little jiggly in 2013. Oh, who am I kidding. This is a Dead or Alive game announcement. Things are going to be flying everywhere. Team Ninja and Tecmo Koei’s Dead or Alive series is going portable again, as Dead or Alive 5 is being ported to Sony’s handheld as Dead or Alive 5 Plus.

A few screenshots have been released, one of which can be seen above. That’s Kasumi beating up Ayame. They look about the same as they did in the PS3 version of Dead or Alive 5 in the static Dead or Alive 5 Plus screenshot. I suppose that’s a good sign as to how the game will look when it goes portable. They’re dressed about the same as well.

Here’s another Dead or Alive 5 Plus screenshot I’m including just because it amuses me. It’s got everything! A guy in a frilly, disco suit, another scantily clad female fighter and a tiger jumping through a ring of fire. Now that’s a fighting game!

If you want to see the Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi making the official Dead or Alive 5 Plus announcement, here’s the video. It’s in Japanese, but there are subtitles.

The announcement comes at the 50 second mark. All he says is that it’s on the way and will be here in early 2013.
