God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta? Yes, please! Sony just announced on the PlayStation Blog when and how people can get into it. See, if you happen to be a PlayStation Plus member, then 2013 will be a very good year. You’ll get to hop into the God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta on January 8, 2013, play through a tutorial and the Team Favor of the Gods and Favor of the Gods modes in the Desert of Lost Souls and Forum of Hercules maps.

Of course, there are some people who don’t have to wait. There was a God of War: Ascension Rise of the Warrior experience not long ago and some of the participants get to enjoy the God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta today on 12/12/12. (Yup, I’m throwing that in everywhere today.) That honor goes to the people who were on the Spartan team. The other participants on the Trojan team also get early access, but must wait until December 16, 2012. (12/16/12 isn’t nearly as pretty or momentous.)

The Rise of the Warrior online experience is still open to people who want in on God of War: Ascension goodies. Players who participate are practically guaranteed free DLC items, but might also get access to oncoming betas by participating in upcoming team challenges.

As for non-PlayStation Plus members, well, be strong. I’m sure eventually Sony will offer up an open God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta. Hopefully.
