Target giving gift cards with the PS3, Vita and Xbox 360 until December 22, 2012

We are now in the final stretch of last minute Christmas shopping. Why did you put it off for so long? Oh well, don’t worry. It happens to all of us. Fortunately, stores like Target saw this coming and are ready with last minute sales. The ad for December 16-22, 2012 is out and features quite a few great gaming deals. There are gift cards with Apple, Microsoft and Sony systems, to start. Not to mention there’s a huge promotion involving Wii U games where if you buy any two, you can get a third for free. Naturally, the cheapest of the three games is always the free one, but since most Wii U games are $59.99 that still means a lot of savings.

Now, let’s get onto the console and gift card deals. We’ll go from the smallest gift cards to largest. Select PS3s and Xbox 360s come with $30 gift cards. You can get the $249.99 4GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle with Kinect Adventures and Kinect Disneyland Adventures or the $299.99 Epic Mickey 2 250GB PS3 Move bundle and get a $30 Target gift card with either. Or, if you prefer portable gaming, you have two more options. The $195 16GB iPod Touch comes with a $50 gift card, as does the $249.99 Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified Vita bundle.

Then there are the games. The Target ad for this week shows a smattering of the games available, as many have been discounted to $19.99, $29.99, $39.99 or $49.99. You’ll have to check in store to see all the price drops, but I’m more than happy to mention some of the most notable. Skylanders Giants (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360), Assassin’s Creed III (PS3, Xbox 360), Call of Duty: Black Ops II (PS3, Xbox 360), and Far Cry 3 (PS3, Xbox 360) have all dropped to $49.99 each for the week. You could also get Resident Evil 6 (PS3, Xbox 360), Sleeping Dogs (PS3, Xbox 360), Dance Central 3 (Xbox 360) or Epic Mickey 2 (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360) for $39.99.

If all else fails, just get someone a Target gift card. That way, he or she could go to the store once the after-Christmas sales begin and pick out something they want so you don’t have to worry if you bought the right system or game.
