Toys R Us before-Christmas sale focuses on Wii U and 3DS

Ah, time for more last minute shopping. The lastest ad is from Toys R Us and is pretty much what you’d expect from the last major ad before Christmas. Between now and December 22, 2012, you can find lots of deals on 3DS, Wii and Wii U games, which is nice. There are some PS3 and Xbox 360 deals too, but you can tell Nintendo products are the primary focus. Well, that and Skylanders Giants. There are a ridiculous amount of Skylanders Giants promotions there right now.

Let’s start with the overarching Toys R Us deals. It’ll make things much easier. First, there’s a Wii U game promotion. If you buy one Wii U game that costs $49.99 or more, Toys R Us will take $5 off of the price. Buy two and $25 will be taken off of the price of the two Wii U games combined. All Wii games are part of a buy one, get one 40% off promotion, in case they’d prefer an older game.

There are more general game deals as well. All Toys R Us value games, which are $19.99 or less, are part of a buy one, get one 40% off promotion as well. There are also two more deals for 3DS owners and PS3 and Xbox 360 owners. For 3DS owners, 16 3DS games like Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion, Angry Birds Trilogy, Lego Batman 2 and Sonic Generations are part of a two for $40 deal. For PS3 and Xbox 360 owners, there’s a deal where if you buy one of 14 different games, you get $10 off if you buy one and $50 if you buy two. Buying two practically makes it a buy one, get one free promotion. Since all of those games involved with that promotion are pretty awesome, I’m going to list the applicable titles right now.

Also, to wrap up the game deals, the Wii Lego Batman 2 Collector’s Pack and 3DS Lego Star Wars III Collector’s Pack are $14.98 each.

This isn’t even mentioning the console deals. You can get gift cards when you buy certain systems. The $249.99 4GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle comes with a $20 gift card, while the $269.99 Uncharted 3 PS3 bundle comes with a $30 gift card.

We’ll wrap this up with the Skylanders Giants deals, of which there are a lot. The 3DS, PS3, Wii, Wii U and Xbox 360 starter packs are all $54.99 instead of $74.99 this week. Also, the Skylanders Battlegrounds iOS starter pack is $39.99 instead of $49.99. If you need figures, you’re in luck. The standard figures are all part of a buy one, get one 75% off deal. The giant figures are 20% off each, making them $14.99. Also, the battle packs, three packs and legendary three packs are all $19.99 this week. In addition, other Skylanders merchandise is on sale, with the Mega Bloks sets being buy one, get one 50% off and the stuffed toys being buy one, get one 40% off.

Also, you’ll have plenty of time to acquire these Toys R Us deals. The store is now open from 6am until midnight until December 20, 2012. Then, from December 21-24, 2012, Toys R us stores will be open 24 hours. So if you miss out on a sale from this place between now and Christmas, it’s your own fault.
