The free-to-play beat’em up known as Dungeon Fighter has made the leap from PC to mobile devices. Today Nexon released Dungeon Fighter Gunner for iOS and Android. Dungeon Fighter Gunner is a scaled down version of its PC counterpart that utilizes touchscreen controls and tap mechanics. You play as the Female Gunner who can be customized according to four specialties including Mechanic, Spitfire, Ranger and Launcher.
There’s a lot of dialogue in Dungeon Fighter Gunner which helps it stay true to its RPG roots. To me, the story is somewhat convoluted and not so easy to follow. It may clear up over time, but right now, I’m still trying to piece it all together.
Don’t expect the same level of visual quality in Dungeon Fighter Gunner as is found in Dungeon Fighter Online. It’s not ugly by any means, it would have been great if this game had more polish in the menus and environments. One thing that does carry over from Dungeon Fighter Gunner is the side-scrolling combat style. Once you clear on area, you’ll have to walk through gates to move on to the next area until a boss fighter occurs. Along the way you’ll acquire loot dropped from downed enemies that can be equipped, sold or used as crafting items.
Fans of Dungeon Fighter Online may want to check out this new mobile version, but if you’re new to the game, I recommend getting your feet wet on PC first.
