GamerTell has more exciting Pokemon news for you today, this time dealing with the Pokemon X and Y legendaries! Nintendo has released a trailer for the forthcoming 3DS games and in it are images of the two super-special pokemon you’ll only be able to catch in respective versions of the game. So here’s what we’ll do. We’ll watch the trailer together, then we’ll talk about the Pokemon X and Y legendaries Xerneas and Yveltal.

Here’s the Pokemon X and Y trailer! Look out for Xerneas and Yveltal!

The first of the Pokemon X and Y legendaries we’ll look at is Xerneas. This is the one you’ll only be able to find if you buy Pokemon X. Here he/she/it is.

Okay. I’m about to say something that will reflect very poorly on my character because it means admitting I willingly sat through a terrible movie. Doesn’t Xerneas look like that massive king of the forest deer Kristen Stewart approached in Snow White and the Huntsman? Oh man, I feel dirty just thinking about that ridiculous movie again.

Wait! Scratch that, let’s start over. Forget I’m a horrible human being for actually seeing that movie. Xerneas looks like the Deer God from Princess Mononoke. Nice save, right? By the way, Snow White and the Huntsman totally stole that scene from Princess Mononoke. I hope Pokemon X and Y don’t too.

Moving on, here’s the second of the Pokemon X and Y legendaries. This is Yveltal, which resides in Pokemon Y.

The first thing that comes to mind when I see Yveltal is Quetzalcoatl. That’s the Aztec god that was a flying, feathered reptile that looked a bit like a dragon. I don’t really see feathers on Yveltal, but it is definitely flying, does look like a lizard-dragon-bird and the markings give it an authentic flavor. The name is even a teeny bit similar.

Of course, this means eventually we’ll have a Pokemon Z which will have a Z-named legendary to join the Pokemon X and Y legendaries. It’s going to happen – just accept it.
