Surprisingly, the Disgaea 2 PS2 Classics announcement came before the Disgaea one, even though the original Disgaea will hit the store first. Disgaea: Hour of Darkness will appear January 15, 2013. PlayStation Store shoppers then have one week to beat it and be ready for Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories on January 22, 2013.
As for price, you’ll pay a lot less than I originally did. Each one will be $9.99 when it arrives on the PlayStation Store. It’s a bargain. However, if you also own a PSP then you’ll be better off going for those versions of Disgaea and Disgaea 2. The PSP installments have extra content and scenarios. Respectively, you get an Etna and an Axel side story. Since the price is about the same, go with the handheld versions and enjoy them on your PSP or Vita.
I highly recommend all of the Disgaea games if you haven’t played them yet. I’m a bit weird though, as I prefer the even numbered entries to the odd ones. I liked Disgaea and Disgaea 3, but I really loved Disgaea 2 and Disgaea 4 even more. I think the reason I didn’t like the first game more was because I didn’t care for the whole Captain Gordon/Jennifer/ Thursday/Kurtis tangent. Anyways, all four games are very solid and fun and I highly recommend all of them. If you have a PS3, you can soon enjoy them all!
