Redlight? Nope, not today. January 15, 2013 is a Steam Greenlight day! Steam users can rejoice in knowing another round of 10 Steam Greenlight games and two software applications have been greenlit.
Before we get into the latest round of games, which is surprisingly awesome, let’s briefly go over the two new pieces of software that will be showing up on Steam. Both can be used to make your own games, which is pretty cool. One is articy:draft, which is supposed to make it easier to design games. You can create layouts, levels, stories, mission trees, skill trees, backgrounds and more with this program, which is pretty cool. The other is GroBoto. It’s a 3D modeling program which allows you to create characters, items and more. You can then save the items as OBJs, which can used with lots of other programs.
Think we should get into the new Steam Greenlight games now? Yeah, I think I’ve put it off enough. There are 10 new games that have been added and I have to say all of them are pretty awesome. I think the only one I didn’t personally upvote is Leisure Suit Larry, but then I’ve never been a fan of the series. Here’s what will be on Steam soon.
- The Age of Decadence (Windows)
- Akaneiro (Windows, Mac)
- Asylum (Windows, Mac, Linux)
- DLC Quest (Windows, Mac)
- Eador: Masters of the Broken World (Windows, Mac, Linux)
- La-Mulana (Windows)
- Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded (Windows, Mac, Linux)
- MaK (Windows)
- Unepic (Windows)
- War of the Overworld (Windows, Mac, Linux)
It’s nice to see so many games for Windows, Mac and Linux in there this round! I’d say I’m most excited about DLC Quest, Unepic and La-Mulana, though there are really no losers in this batch. The community greenlit some great games!
