The Wii U Nintendo Direct will be hosted by Satoru Iwata in Japanese, but there’s no need to worry. I’m sure there will be plenty of game footage that will help explain things. Or, if you prefer, you can visit the European Nintendo Direct page as I’m sure that version of the broadcast will have subtitles. Getting the timing right to watch it could be a bit tricky though. It will air at 11pm JST on January 23 in Japan. That’s 2pm GMT on January 23 in Europe. For North America, that’s 9am on the East Coast, 8am for the Midwest and and 6am for the West Coast. Some of you might be busy with work or school when it happens.
Still, no worries. GamerTell fully intends to cover the Wii U Nintendo Direct. We’ll miss out on work (or sleep) to make sure you have the latest details on Wii U games.
In the meantime though, what do you think the Wii U Nintendo Direct will cover? I think it’ll focus on the four games we already know about – Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Wii Fit U and Game & Wario. I doubt there’ll be any new game announcements in there, but you never know. If a new game is announced, I’m guessing it’ll be at the end of the presentation as a blurb. Perhaps a hint of a new Legend of Zelda, Metroid or Smash Bros. game. Actually, a Smash Bros. installment is probably most likely, as Nintendo probably wants to make people forget all about PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Update: The Wii U Nintendo Direct will also be broadcast online via Nintendo of America’s site in case you’re planning to be online to watch it.
