Max Payne 3 has received its final piece of DLC. The Deathmatch Made in Heaven brings in four new multiplayer modes, including the two-player co-op Dead Man Walking mode. This is Max Payne 3’s survival mode, pitting you and a partner against waves of enemies. You and your teammate start with only a PT9 handgun, 60 rounds of ammo and three “pain killers.”

Most video game heroes in survival mode don’t have Bullet Time and Shootdodge in their arsenal, so bring it bad guys. You’ll gain more points for getting kills without taking damage, or scoring headshots. The further you get, the tougher the enemies and the better their armor.

Max Payne 3‘s Deathmatch Made in Heaven’s Run and Stun mode features the ongoing conflict between Baseball Bat Boy and Saci. One player begins the game as Saci, and each time he kills someone he converts them to his evil side. Saci is armed with flash bang grenades, a stun gun and an extremely strong melee attack. The round ends when the timer runs out or a single player has escaped conversion.

Marked Man is a new take on Deathmatch for Deathmatch Made in Heaven. You’ll earn more points for completing vendetta kills. It’s five points for each vendetta you complete and five points for each vendetta you walk away from. This sounds like a really frantic mode for a group of friends to take on.

Time Attack is essentially the same as Deathmatch Made in Heaven’s Deathmatch, but with a counter showing how many points you get for the next kill. The object is to stack as many kills together as you can before the timer hits zero.

A lot of times, I don’t even touch the multiplayer on games I purchase or rent primarily for the single player story. I did play a little Max Payne 3 multiplayer when I had the game, and found it pretty enjoyable. Is anybody else out there still playing? If so, do these new modes intrigue you? Grab it for 800 Microsoft Points/$9.99 from either Xbox Live Arcade or the PlayStation Store if they do.
