I swear, the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Online Multiplayer and Wallace Pack DLC is the best joke Ubisoft has ever played. That DLC? It’s delayed again. Yes, it couldn’t make its debut August 19, 2012 and now it is going to miss its February 5 and 6, 2013 release too! Ubisoft has totally burned anyone who still cares about this downloadable game from 2010.
The reason for the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World DLC delay this time? Apparently it needs “fine-tuning” and input from fans needs to be taken into account. I’m pretty sure the only fan feedback being directed Ubisoft’s way at this point has to do with actually releasing the dang thing. Though really, I think the whole thing is a smokescreen. After over two and a half years, this Online Multiplayer and Wallace Pack has had plenty of time to cook. The only way it would need more work is if it was vaporware all this time and Ubisoft decided they maybe should actually make it real now.
Seriously Ubisoft, at this point just make the Online Multiplayer and Wallace Pack DLC free. Nobody is going to give you $4.99/400 Microsoft Points at this point. Garner yourself some goodwill and customer loyalty by updating Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game with a patch that incorporates this into the game. Because honestly, no one will pay for this. I mean, I liked the game. Okay, I originally loved it when I first played it and I really did think it needed online multiplayer. But at this point, I’d rather take the money I would have spent on this DLC to buy Hearthfire for Skyrim.
I guess the one bright side is that this Scott Pilgrim vs. The World DLC delay makes the Bethesda’s delay in getting Skyrim DLC to PS3 owners look like nothing. It’s a pretty bad silver lining, but it’s something.
