I really hope you PS3, PSP and Vita owners have money in your PlayStation Store wallets, because you’re about to be hit by a sale monsoon. When it updates February 5, 2013, it will be a 50% off extravaganza. Hey, that’s today! Go us! And go Namco Bandai and Square Enix, because those are the two lovely companies that are offering us deeply discounted downloads.
The Namco Bandai 50% off sale is one of those “just cause” deals. I suppose if pressed, you could say it’s a Valentine’s Day thing. Until March 5, 2013, a slew of games and DLC packs will be on sale so people can get them for a lot less than usual and feel how much Namco Bandai loves them. Here’s the list of what you can get and what it will cost.
The Square Enix 50% off sale is more specialized as it is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series. As such, 12 Final Fantasy games will be 50% off until the PlayStation Store updates on February 19, 2013. We don’t have the exact reduced prices yet, so I’ll just offer the list down here.
I’d recommend skipping the original Dissidia, as the sequel has it’s story and such built into it. Also, the PSOne Classics are definitely playable on the PS3 and PSP and should all be playable on the Vita.
If you only intend to buy a few games from the PlayStation Store during this sale, I’d recommend grabbing Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX. They’re the PSOne games that are normally $9.99, they almost never go on sale and when they are 50% off, they’ll be the same price as a standard PSOne Classic!
Vita owners especially may want to stock up with these PlayStation Store sales. Grab some PSP and PSOne Classics that you can play anywhere!
I’m considering getting Noby Noby Boy or Final Fantasy VIII for myself. The former because it just looks weird and the later because I love it.
