Rayman Legends for everyone! If this game was one of the reasons you were going to buy a Wii U to stand alongside your PS3 and Xbox 360, then you’re going to have to start searching for more reasons. One of the hottest exclusives for Nintendo’s new system is now multiplatform. A more skeptical person could probably make a case saying that the constant delays of this game were due to Ubisoft trying to figure out if it could eek out of making it a Wii U exclusive so it could cash in on by releasing it everywhere.

Not that I’m complaining! Perish the thought! Rayman Legends was going to be one of the reasons I was going to buy a Wii U and I’m really happy now to know that I can just keep relying on my trusty PS3 instead. I do feel bad for all of those Wii U owners though, especially people who pre-ordered it. They probably figured Rayman Legends would really be in their systems on February 26, 2013 and I bet it breaks their hearts knowing they’ll have to wait until September 2013.

Yes, the game has been delayed. Even though the Wii U version is probably 100% finished, Ubisoft has pushed back the release so it can coincide with the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases of Rayman Legends. While I can understand the company’s reasoning, it does seem a bit unfair. I mean, Wii U owners have been expecting this game ever since the system was announced at E3 2012. At this point, it wouldn’t have hurt Ubisoft at all if it had decided to do a timed-exclusivity thing. It could have still released Rayman Legends later this month, and then let PS3 and Xbox 360 watch enviously and chomp at the bit until they could finally buy their copies in September.
