yoshi birdo mario kart double dash valentine's dayIt’s Valentine’s Day and love is in the air! Since it’s the season for romance, I decided to play Cupid and play matchmaker for some video game bachelors and bachelorettes. After all, everyone deserves a chance to find love on this special day.

I’ve compiled a list of some of the single video game characters that are in serious need of hooking up. Sure, some of these characters may already be taken, but I’ve decided they could do way better. So here we go, and let’s see if you agree with these pairings.

Birdo and Yoshi (Mario Bros.)

Yes, even I admit this is an odd couple, but they worked well together in Mario Kart and they both enjoy shooting eggs out of their (cough) orifices. Plus, they are both adorable and Nintendo pretty much has them paired off already.

Nathan Drake (Uncharted) and Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)

Lets face it, they could both use a break from the exploring and all the thieves and mercenaries chasing them. It would be nice if they could just enjoy a nice candlelight dinner in the middle of a sunken mine!

Pinky (Pac-man) and Boo (Mario Bros.)

These two spooks were meant to be! Both like sneaking around in labyrinths and they are both tired of chasing after small round guys who like to eat a lot. It’s a match made in heaven!

Okami and wolf Link (Twilight Princess)

Sure, Link is only a wolf part of the time, but they would still make a cute couple. If they hit it off, he may give up on Zelda and go wolf all the way!

Master Chief (Halo) and Samus Aran (Metroid)

Both are super strong due to their powered up suits and both really hate aliens. Imagine how awesome their offspring would be!

Shooting Piranha plant (Mario Bros.) and Peashooter (Plant’s vs. Zombies

How perfect are these two? They are both masters of home defense and shoot out powerful seeds. That would make martial disputes quite interesting.

Chef Peter Pepper (Burgertime) and Cooking Mama

Imagine the wonderful dishes they would create! It would be a marriage that would benefit everyone. Hopefully, Mama doesn’t mind burgers now and then.

Jeff Andonuts (Earthbound) and Lucca (Chrono Trigger)

Even geniuses need love. All they need are several pieces of scrap metal, a blowtorch and maybe a robot and they could have one incredible honeymoon!

Tiny Kong (Donkey Kong Country) and Data (Mega Man Legends)

Ok so Data is technically a robot, but he is adorable and really knows how to dance! Babes love that kind of thing. And Tiny is adorable too, so it just makes sense.

Commander Shepard (Mass Effect) and the Grey Warden (Dragon Age Origins)

These two individuals are reflections of their players and get to make important moral decisions throughout their stories. Given their roles as leaders and importance in their respective universes, they could be a perfect match. Or perfect rivals. It depends on their build!
