Actually, make that by swarm. One of the highly anticipated events is a StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm exhibition tournament. It just released today, so this is the world’s first glimpse at how the expansion changes the competitive landscape. Twenty-eight winners of Winter Season Showdown tournaments will battle Life, Leenock, Flash and Bomber, winners of the MLG Fall Showdown. The prize pool is $75,000, with $25,000 going to first place.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 continues Activision’s big play for eSports recognition. Two hundred teams are going into a Major League Gaming’s Pro Circuit Winter Championship open bracket to earn a chance at a $50,000 in prizes, $20,000 going to first place. The top eight teams standing at the end of the weekend earn trips to Hollywood, where they will compete in the Call of Duty Championship for a $1 million prize pool.

League of Legends will have a strong presence as well. Riot Games’ juggernaut will have three events in Dallas this weekend. The North American Summer Qualifier features a $30,000 prize pool, with first place earning $20,000 and a place in the May Promotion Tournament. Things take on an Olympic flavor in the International Exhibition Tournament. Top team KT Rolster B, Gambit Gaming, Dignitas and Curse will throw down for $15,000 in prizes.

The League Championship Series continues, with eight North American Championship teams fighting for supremacy. Each team will get three matches in throughout the Major League Gaming’s Pro Circuit Winter Championship weekend.
