MLGCurse swept Dare 3-0 March 15 in its Black Ops II Championship bracket opener, yet they probably hope to never play that way again. Dare outplayed Curse for much of the three games, yet lost every one of them. Game 1 was Hardpoint on Raid, with Dare holding the lead up until the final minute of the match. CMPLX dropped an amazing 50 kills to lead his team to the comeback.

Game 2 was Search and Destroy on Express. Again, Dare seemed to have this game locked down. They took a commanding 4-0 lead. Again, they couldn’t finish Curse off. Curse shocked Dare and the crowd by winning six rounds, yes I said six rounds in a row. At this point, Dare was feeling it slip away. They wasted some masterful Remington 870 shotgun work by Mosh in this matchup.

The third game was Capture the Flag, and it was the only matchup to be even all the way. So even, in fact, the teams were tied at one victory each with 15 seconds left. No sooner than the gamecasters could mention overtime, Alex “Rizma” Vetelino came through in the clutch. He posted a double kill and the winning flag capture in that final, frantic 15 seconds. Curse moved on after being dominated for large parts of the games it won. Dare has to try and reconcile getting swept 3-0 while leading most of the first two games.

Curse will play the winner of vVv Gaming vs an as yet undetermined team from the 192 team open bracket. That bracket is going on while the Championship Bracket plays on the main stage. The winning team walks away with $20,000 of a $50,000 prize pool. Keep it locked on GamerTell through the MLG Pro Circuit Winter Championship March 15-17.
