Telltale Games is known for their various awesome episodic game franchises. They usually take a popular series like Walking Dead or Back to the Future and turn it into a series of games that all tie into each other. Telltale, working along with DC Entertainment just announced its newest game series, The Wolf Among Us.

The Wolf Among Us is based on the popular DC comic series Fables, written by Bill Willingham. Fables comics are all based on famous fairy tale characters, and how they would live and survive if they were real people living among us. The Wolf Among Us, as the name suggests, has to do with the infamous big bad wolf that seems to show up in lots of fairy tales. The events of The Wolf Among Us take place before the events of the first issue of Fables and introduces the newbies to the world of Fables.

In The Wolf Among Us, you will take over the role of Bigby Wolf who retired from being so big and bad and instead became a sheriff of a hidden community in New York City. The city has been exiled from the land of fairy tales and houses some of the lowest and grimmest fairy tale creatures, along with normal fairy tales that just made a bad name for themselves. Bigby needs to keep order in this run-down excuse for a town and keep his undetected city, undetected. You will run into lots of familiar fairy tale characters like Snow White, The Three Little Pigs and even Mr. Toad. Bigby will have interactions with these characters throughout the games and help them out, or keep them in line depending on the scenario. Each episode in the series will offer different events in a continuing story just like a comic book.

The Wolf Among Us is due to come out in the summer of 2013 as a downloadable series on PC, Mac, XBLA and PSN. No other plot details or specifics have been given at this time, but if Telltale stays true to its already awesome form, you can expect this to be a great series!
