I am so excited, because Black Rock Shooter: The Game is finally coming to North America! I mean, it’s not like I didn’t believe NIS America would come through. When that company annonces a game, they make it happen. Just, after so long with no word about it, I was starting to worry. It was for naught. Black Rock Shooter: The Game will be released on both the United States and European PlayStation Stores on April 23 and 24, 2013.

Black Rock Shooter: The Game is a PSP download to get excited about. First, it’s made by Imageepoch. That’s a developer with a pretty good reputation. Second, Famitsu gave it a 33/40 when it was released in Japan, which is an above average score. Third, the premise of this action RPG sounds pretty awesome.

As the title suggests, it is inspired by Supercell’s Hatsune Miku song, “Black Rock Shooter.” The song inspired artwork by Ryohei “Huke” Fuke, which then inspired an original video animation, anime, manga and Black Rock Shooter: The Video Game. Earth was invaded and mostly destroyed by aliens in 2032. Fortunately, there’s still hope. In 2051, the last 12 people alive awaken the android Black Rock Shooter. BRS goes forth, taking on missions increasing in difficulty and intensity, as she fights to save the remaining humans and destroy the alien invaders. However, there’s a woman named White Rock Shooter who looks just like BRS, but seems to have an opposing agenda.

You know, I should probably be sharing a gameplay video of Black Rock Shooter: The Game, but this announcement is getting me all nostalgic for the song “Black Rock Shooter” from Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F, so let’s watch that instead! After all, it’s the song that inspired the series and game.

That is such a catchy song!

Okay, let’s go ahead and watch the actual Black Rock Shooter: The Game trailer.

I’m getting it. I’ve waited so long, there’s no way I’m not going to support NIS America! Well, as long as it works on my Vita, that is. I can’t be bothered to go and dig out my PSP again.
