By now, I’m sure you’ve all seen the Legend of Zelda iconic item set available on Shapeways. I mean really, it is quite cool. To imagine a 3D printer could give you every item is quite neat, though $300 is a bit expensive.

Fortunately, you don’t have to break the bank to get a cool, video game inspired item from a 3D printer. I was scouring Shapeways and I’ve found 5 incredibly cool, video game items you could actually afford. So, I decided to go ahead and share them with you. Get out $25 or so and see if you can find something you’d like.

super mario mobius strip 3d printer

Super Mario Mobius Strip

This 3D printer item is the one I have to have. Fortunately, it’s a lot cheaper than the Legend of Zelda item set, so that could actually happen. JoaBaldwin has made a Super Mario Mobius Strip. It looks liek a Super Mario level and is just amazing. The colors and design are perfect. There are even little Goombas. Plus, at $24, it’s a pretty good deal.

companion cube d6 3d printer

Companion Cube D6

The Companion Cube D6 dice by DoWhileGeek is probably the most practical 3D printer item on this list. Not only will gamers love it for its Portal reference, but they can also use it for their board games or table top RPGs. Plus, it’s only $7.50. That’s a pretty good deal for such a unique item.

glados ring 3d printer

GLaDOS ring

Speaking of Portal, this GLaDOS ring by QUATRO is pretty badass. It looks like GLaDOS, though you have to paint it, and has the words, “Still alive…” inscribed in the band. I’d gladly pay $17.80 for this item.

pokemon gym badges kanto 3d printer

Pokemon Gym Badges

Know what you need? You need some freakin’ badges. Don’t worry, thehiddenice has you covered with a set of 8 Kanto gym badges. They look just like the real thing and would look great pinned to a bag. Just make sure you have your own pins to glue on the back, because for $24.99, you’re just getting the badges.

day of the tentacle vidal design 3d printer

Day of the Tentacle…. Tentacle

I have to say though, the coolest thing I’ve seen so far, that touches my nostalgic heart the most, is Vidal Design’s Day of the Tentacle Tentacle. This $19.99, 6cm tall, full color model is beyond cool and looks ready to begin his quest of world domination. Vidalcris has a lot of cool, video game-inspired characters, like the Mega Man, Turret and Crash Bandicoot models, but I think the Tentacle is best.
