On behalf of GamerTell, and gamers in general, I feel it necessary to immediately inform you when a fantastic deal is about to be available. After all, I want you to have as much fun as possible, while saving as much money as you can. Which is why I have to insist anyone with a PS3 buys the Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 on June 25, 2013.
The Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 is a compilation disc much like the Journey: Collector’s Edition. For $39.99, people get four PS3 games that were formerly PlayStation Store exclusives. Namely, Fat Princess, Sound Shapes, Tokyo Jungle and When Vikings Attack. They’ll be able to install the games from the disc, to their PS3 hard drives to play and enjoy. The only annoyance is, the disc must be inserted each time to play, despite the installation, as an antipiracy measure.
Here’s why the Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 is such a good deal. Look at the normal prices of the games you’ll be getting.
- Fat Princess – $14.99
- Sound Shapes – $14.99
- Tokyo Jungle – $14.99
- When Vikings Attack – $9.99
For those who don’t want to do the math, that comes out to $54.96 total, if downloaded separately. People save $14.97 by purchasing the collection.
There is only one downside to this incredible deal. Both Sound Shapes and When Vikings Attack are part of the cross-buy promotion on the PlayStation Store. Meaning if you buy the PS3 version, you also get the Vita version for free. However, with Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1, you’re only getting the PS3 versions of the games. Given the collection, it’s understandable. Still, I’m of the belief that Sound Shapes is actually better on the Vita, so some people may be a little disappointed.
