LEGO The Movie Game

The first LEGO videogame to grace the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be based on the company’s upcoming movie entitled The LEGO Movie. The LEGO Movie Videogame will be developed by TT Games and will be released in 2014. Since the movie is scheduled to release on February 7, it’s likely the game will be released sometime around then. Other supported consoles include the Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Vita and 3DS.

According to the press release, there will be over 90 characters and 15 levels within The LEGO Movie Videogame. The main character will be Emmet, a minifigure who everyone thinks is a legendary Master Builder that can save the world from Lord Business. Lord Business wants to bring about the end of the world by gluing together. If there’s one thing that goes against the very nature of LEGO, it’s glue.

We can expect to build all kinds of LEGO creations along the way just like we did in past LEGO games. I’m willing to bet some of these in-game sets will also be sold as one of the 17 physical LEGO sets that are being created specifically for this movie.

There’s no gameplay footage yet, but here’s hoping it looks as amazing as I think it will.
