They track down the evil souls who have escaped their final judgment. Some will get arrested, others will meet their end – again. The developer here is Oldschool Games, best known for shooter God Mode. It is 800 Microsoft Points ($10) to join up with the RIPD.

Games with Gold’s latest free title is Assassin’s Creed II. Don’t forget to download it before July 31 for the low, low price of free. It introduces us to Ezio Auditore, favorite assassin in the whole series for a lot of folks. There’s a James Bond quality to this dapper but lethal ladies’ man. There is also a sale on AC content through the 31st:

  • Assassin’s Creed $14.99
  • Assassin’s Creed II Sequence 12: Battle of Forli DLC 214 MP
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood         $14.99
  • The Da Vinci Disappearance DLC   536 MP
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations            $14.99
  • The Lost Archive DLC                           536 MP
  • Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack 536 MP
  • Assassin’s Creed III Season Pass          2400 MP

The Summer of Arcade is almost here, starting August 7. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is August 7 launching at 1200 MP,  while Charlie Murder releases August 14 for 800 MP. The remake of classic game Flashback comes August 21 for 800 MP, and will include a copy of the original. Coming out last and beating up a whole lot of kung fu warriors is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows for 1200 MP.

The reward for buying all these is pretty lackluster compared to previous years. Usually we’ve gotten some Microsoft Points back, but the company is phasing those out for the next console generation. Now the reward for buying two games is a Souls Pack for Ascend: Hand of Kul. Perhaps it’s because of an increasing focus on the Xbox One, but I’m not feeling this Summer of Arcade like the previous ones.
