It’s not enough to play good football, players want to look good while doing it. On June 23, NCAA Football 14 released an update with new uniforms and uniform changes for 20 different teams. Many of these are making their debut this year, while some were worn last year and are just getting into the game.
As you noticed if you tried to log into Xbox Live July 23, there some issues. If you downloaded your uniform pack during while problems were going on, you may still be dealing with slow service. EA released steps to fix it:Go to to Xbox Home Screen -> System Settings -> Storage -> Storage Device -> Games and Apps -> NCAA 14 -> Select Uniform Pack DLC and delete.
Then you’ll need to re-download and install the DLC when you launch NCAA Football 14. Here are the schools who received uniform upgrades:
- Bowling Green
- North Carolina
- North Carolina State
- Notre Dame
- Oregon State
- Southern Mississippi
- Texas A&M
- West Virginia
The next uniform update heads our way in August. A lot of savvy gamers only buy sports titles every couple of years. Some of them have sworn off NCAA Football after some serious glitches in dynasty mode, and bad customer support by EA afterwards. But reviews this year have been favorable. The old phone call recruiting mini-game got a much needed overhaul. The spread option is changing the college game, and EA has changed up offenses in response. This is looking like a great year to head back to school.
There’s a serious nostalgia factor too. The NCAA has announced it won’t renew its contract with EA. The organization didn’t go into specifics, but the sticking point is probably a lawsuit over player likenesses and whether colleges deserve compensation for them.
NCAA Football 14 is available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 for $59.99.
