The launch of Disney Infinity hasn’t been the best experience for PS3 players. Myself and many others across various forums are having issues with both game freezes and save data corruption. Disney Infinity’s Twitter account acknowledged there are problems with the PS3 version and are currently working on a fix.
The freezing seems to be mostly occurring in the Toy Box. When I started the game, everything worked fine with no problems. When I started the game a second time, it froze when placing a figure onto the Infinity Base. Upon restarting the game, I was given a message that said my save data had become corrupted and I had to delete it to continue. I had close to an hour of progress, so it wasn’t too bad to start over.
It wasn’t until the game froze two more times in a row in the same spot that I realized something wasn’t right with the software. I searched some forums and many people suggested deleting the patch that installed with the game, and disconnecting the PS3 from the internet. I did that, and everything works fine now. Maybe it’ll work for you too.
If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, I suggest uploading your saved data to the cloud to be on the safe side. That way, if the local data messes up, you still have a backup. It would be a shame to lose all those unlockables.
