Hello, Wii U price drop. There’s been buzzing about it for a while. After all, some stores were cutting back on carrying the standard, 8GB Wii U. You’d see sales on the 32GB Wii U. Not to mention, it isnt selling as well as Nintendo would like. But initially, all the talk was rumors. Now, it’s truth. Nintendo’s dropping the Wii U Deluxe model’s price to $299.99 from $349.99.
Even bigger, the Wii U price drop is coming on the day an anticipated Wii U game will be released. On September 20, 2013, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD comes to the Wii U. There’s even a special bundle to celebrate. It’s a limited edition model of the system that, coincidentally, is also $299.99.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle will be the one to get. It comes with a black, 32GB Wii U, a GamePad with a Hyrule crest and gold lettering, a eShop download code for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and a download code for Hyrule Historia, that lovely compilation that contains detail about every aspect of the Legend of Zelda universe.
If you already havea Wii U and want The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, you won’t be getting a free copy of Hyrule Historia with your $49.99 game. However, if you pay $54.99 for the GameStop edition of the game, you can get a Ganondorf figure with it.
The Wii U price drop is a smart move. A lot of interesting Wii U games are coming out soon, like the aforementioned Wind Waker HD, as well as Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, Scribblenauts Unmasked, Skylanders SWAP Force, Sonic Lost World, Rayman Legends, Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch_Dogs.
