It is time to weep, for Taiko Drum Master Wii U Version will never be ours. No, we will never get to know the joy of playing a virtual Taiko drum on our Wii Us. At least, I’m pretty sure. The last Taiko game Namco Bandai released outside of Japan was for the PS2, so I sincerely doubt we’ll see the Wii U version here. Insert sadface.
Still, we can always watch and dream. Taiko Drum Master Wii U Version appeared at the 2013 Tokyo Game Show. People could play on the drum peripherals and go through the various songs, having a ball. Try not to be too jealous. I know I am.
All we can do, however, is live vicariously through this Taiko Drum Master Wii U Version trailer. It shows the basic gameplay, as well, as some multiplayer songs and mini-game mashups. Even a snippet of the Super Mario song is shown. It’s truly drool worthy.
There are 70 awesome traditional, JPop, and video game songs we’ll never get to drum along with on our Wii Us. I have to admit that the relay mini-game was pretty cool too. It was shown in a segment where players have to pass the GamePad around, among four different players, picking up where the last person left off to perfectly play a song.
Japan gets Taiko Drum Master Wii U Version on November 21, 2013. I’m most jealous of the Pokemon X and Y and other Nintendo songs showing up in the game, but really, I’m sure all are quite delightful.
