As expected, Apple revealed two new iPads today. Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple has sold over 170 million iPads to date. In addition to that, Cook said the iPad is used four times more than any other tablet. Apple wants to keep that trend going, so it announced a couple new tablets. The first is called the iPad Air. The second is the new iPad mini. The iPad Air is much thinner than the previous iPad. The iPad Air is also lighter weighing only a pound. On the inside of the tablet is Apple’s A7 chip that improves its speed and graphics. It also has a 5-megapixel iSight camera, dual microphones and a new Facetime HD front camera. It’s going to cost $499 for the 16GB version. It’ll begin shipping on November 1.
Apple didn’t forget about the iPad mini. It may have been a little questionable at first, but it’s proven to be a huge hit. In the new iPad mini, Apple has given it a 7.9-inch Retina display. It also carries Apple’s A7 chip. This will make it considerably faster than the original iPad mini. It’ll be sold for $399 in November. The original iPad mini is dropping to $299.
