After having a brief layover in China, Plants vs. Zombies 2 can now be downloaded around the world. You can go to Google Play right now and download the game for free. PvZ 2 requires a device with at least Android 2.3, 1GB of RAM, a 1GHz ARM processor and 169MB of initial space. Those specs are pretty standard for the majority of Android devices released in recent memory. Chances are you’ll have no problem getting this game up and running.
The Android and iOS versions of PvZ 2 are virtually identical. If you want to know how we feel about the game, check out our impressions piece we put together back in July. Basically, PvZ 2‘s free-to-play elements aren’t nearly as bad as some other games out there, but restrictions do become apparent at times. There’s nothing that will stop you from actually playing the game, but progression won’t happen as quickly as the original game.
The iOS version of the game also got a pretty decent update today. A new mini-game called Pinata Party has been added that puts you up against zombies from all different time periods. Each Pinata Party lasts for 24 hours, and a prize is given to those who beat three parties in a row. The iOS version also lets you avoid the map when picking a level to go to.
