Today is the best day of October 2013. Forget about Halloween, all that candy would rot your teeth, anyways. October 29, 2013 will forever be remembered in infamy as the day The Typing of The Dead returned to our lives with The Typing of The Dead: Overkill.
You don’t know what The Typing of The Dead is? Bite your tongue! Truly, you are not a gamer if you did not, at one point in your life, play The House of the Dead 2 on your Dreamcast, PS2, or PC and kill zombies by typing words and phrases. The edutainment game was a huge hit in the early 2000’s, and has now gloriously returned to our PCs with The Typing of The Dead: Overkill.
The Typing of The Dead: Overkill lets players type their way through the 9 stages of a port of the PS3 version of House of the Dead. There are multiple difficulty levels, randomized words, and lots of other tweaks to make this a gruesomely awesome game. In fact, Sega’s even planning to release free DLC that will allow two players to “type” their way through zombies cooperatively.
Of course, The Typing of The Dead: Overkill gets even better. In honor of both its launch and Halloween, it’s on sale. You can grab it on Steam for $9.99, instead of $19.99, until November 1, 2013.
Man, now I wish I had paid more attention to Sega’s Facebook teasing. On October 27, 2013, it uploaded an image that said, “On October 29th Guts Will Be _ _ _ _ _ _ _.” I figured the word was “spilled” and it’d be some old horror-ish game port. I never expected this! Thanks, Sega!
